Organisational identity, values, principles, causes and culture are becoming a much greater determinant of organisational success in a digital age, for a number of reasons. Access to, and availability of information about the organisation are often cited as a primary reason to more concerned about things like sustainability, social contributions, the moral stand taken on issues, equality and equal access.
An yes, maybe because it’s easier to find all of this out, you should be more careful about your actions. But the main driver for being a better organisation is because your staff and customers are much more sophisticated and they demand that people and organisations they invest in – be held to a higher standard!
